MEET OUR STAFF

Ken Henry, Ph.D., CCC-A
Dr. Henry is the director of Professional Hearing Services and the Dizziness and Balance Center. He earned his Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio. He has 27 years experience the evaluation and diagnosis of hearing and balance disorders. He has published articles on vestibular system assessment, infant hearing assessment and intraoperative monitoring. He is an active faculty member at Gallaudet University and The George S. Osborne School of Audiology at Salus University. In addition to serving as director of Professional Hearing Services he is also supervising audiologist for the Neurodiagnostic EEG Laboratory and Newborn Hearing-Screening program for Inova Fairfax Hospital. Dr. Henry is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. He has over 25 years of experience with hearing aid dispensing with all levels of hearing aid technology.

Cheryl Boston, Au.D., CCC-A
Dr. Boston earned her Doctorate of Audiology from The George S. Osborne School of Audiology in Elkins Park, PA and her Master's Degree from University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA. She has been an Audiologist with Professional Hearing Services for more than 20 years and has extensive experience in the evaluation of hearing loss for all age populations (pediatric through geriatric). She is highly trained and has experience working with all levels of hearing aid technology. She also has experience in the evaluation of dizziness and balance disorders. Dr. Boston is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) with which she holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). She is a licensed audiologist and hearing aid specialist in State of Virginia. She sees patients in the Manassas location.

Kathryn Keier Rios, Au.D., CCC-A
Dr. Rios earned her Doctorate of Audiology from The George S. Osborne School of Audiology in Elkins Park, PA. and her Master's Degree from The University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA. Her role at Professional Hearing Services includes supervising the dizziness and balance center and a contract Audiologist for diagnostic Auditory Brainstem Response testing (ABR) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatrics for INOVA Fairfax Hospital. Dr. Rios is also involved in the INOVA Newborn Hearing-Screening programs. She is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for the department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at James Madison University. Dr. Rios is highly trained in the evaluation of the individuals with dizziness and balance disorders and works with all levels of digital hearing aid technology. She is a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and sits on the Early Childhood Hearing Outreach (ECHO) Team that provides training and technical assistance to Head Start programs. Her primary locations are the Springfield and Falls Church offices and at INOVA Fairfax Hospital for Children.

Kimberly Johnson, Au.D., CCC-A
Dr. Johnson earned her Doctorate of Audiology from The George S. Osborne School of Audiology at Salus University in Elkins Park, PA. She earned her Master's Degree from James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA. Dr. Johnson is highly skilled at the diagnosis and evaluation of individuals with dizziness and balance disorders. She is also trained in hearing evaluations for both the adult and pediatric populations, and works with all levels of hearing aid technology. Dr. Johnson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, with which she holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Dr. Johnson sees patients in the Springfield office.

Sandra Kester Romano, Au.D., CCC-A
Dr. Romano earned her Doctorate of Audiology degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, School of Audiology, Elkins Park, PA. She started her career in Houston, TX working with children in the deaf and special education programs in the Aldine Independent School District and has worked as an Audiologist with the Fairfax County Public Schools. She is highly skilled in hearing evaluations and hearing aid evaluations for both the adult and pediatric populations working with all levels of digital hearing aid technology. She can converse in American Sign Language, Spanish and Dutch. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology with the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). Dr. Romano sees patients in our Falls Church and Springfield offices.

Jennifer K. Miller, Au.D., CCC/A
Dr. Miller earned her doctorate in Audiology from A.T. Still University at the Arizona School of Health Sciences. An Ohio native, she completed her graduate work at the University of Akron, where she later served as a clinical instructor. She has many years of experience in hospital and medical settings, performing hearing evaluations for all age groups, and conducting assessments for dizziness and balance disorders. She works with all levels of hearing aid technology from conventional to 100% digital. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. Dr. Miller is primarily located in the Herndon office.

Alexia-Iris Carballo, M.A., CCC-A
Ms. Carballo, a New York native, completed her graduate work at St. John's University, Jamaica, NY. She is currently working on her Doctorate of Audiology degree at the University of Florida. Ms. Carballo specializes in electrophysiological measures and in evaluating patients with dizziness and balance disorders. She is also trained in hearing evaluations for both the adult and pediatric populations, and works with all levels of hearing aid technology from conventional to 100% digital. She is a licensed audiologist and hearing aid specialist in the State of Virginia as well as a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), with which she holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology, and the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). Ms. Carballo is fluent is conversational Spanish and sees patients in the Falls Church, Manassas and Herndon offices.

Jian Yu, Au.D., CCC-A
Ms. Yu earned her doctoral degree in audiology from University of Maryland in College Park, MD. She is trained in the evaluation of hearing disorders in all populations and dizziness and balance disorders in adult population. She also works with all levels of hearing aid technology. Ms. Yu will become a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association in summer 2009, with which she will hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). She is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese. Ms. Yu sees patients in the Falls Church and Springfield offices.

Donnia Zack-Williams B.A, Doctoral Fellow
Ms. Zack-Williams is working on her Doctorate of Audiology degree at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. She attained her B.A. at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD. She specializes in hearing evaluations for all populations and works with the latest digital hearing aid technology. Ms. Zack-Williams is trained in electrophysiological measures and in evaluating patients with dizziness and balance disorders. She is particularly interested in Cochlear Hydrops Analysis Masking Procedure (CHAMP) and Electrocochleography (ECoG). She is a member of the National Association of Future Doctors of Audiology (NAFDA) and Pennsylvania Academy of Audiology (PAA). Ms. Zack-Williams currently sees patients at the Falls Church office.

Jessica Cooper, M.S., Doctoral Fellow
Mrs. Cooper earned her master's degree in Audiology from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. and is currently a doctoral fellow in her 4th year of Gallaudet's Au.D. program. She earned her bachelor's degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. Mrs. Cooper works with all populations for hearing and balance evaluation. She specializes in working with the pediatric population. She works with the latest digital hearing aid technology, and is trained in electrophysiologic measures, as well as other measures of evaluation for patients with dizziness and balance disorders. She is also fluent in American Sign Language. Mrs. Cooper currently sees patients at the Falls Church office.
